SEPARATING PROFILE FOR TIMBER SHEAR BRACKET ANGLES
XYLOFON PLATE
Within the range of acoustic insulation for timber angle brackets, there is a new XYLOFON PLATE.
This resilient profile has all the characteristics to work as one of the best acoustic insulators between timber and metal angle brackets.
APPLICATIONS
- In combination with TITAN and NINO angle brackets
- To limit possible acoustic bridges caused by the timber-to- timber joint through angle brackets
THE MECHANICAL ACOUSTIC BEHAVIOUR OF XYLOFON PLATE INSULATION
Thanks to the monolithic polyurethane compound, the product ensures uniform deformation in the vicinity of the connection, minimally affecting the structural performance of the connections.
The experimental campaigns carried out within the SEISMIC-Rev project and in collaboration with multiple research institutes, have shown how resilient profiles installed under angle brackets influence the mechanical performance of the connection.
In contrast, the characteristics of XYLOFON PLATE only minimally influence the mechanical performance of the timber-to- timber connection using TITAN or NINO angle brackets.
The mechanical shear strength values tested for coupling XYLOFON PLATE with NINO reach 34.6 kN certified according to ETA.
Thanks to the Flanksound project, it has been demonstrated that the ability to dampen vibrations through the joint is strongly influenced by the type and number of connections.
XYLOFON PLATE does not contain substances harmful for people and the environment.
