SELF-ADHESIVE STRIP FOR PERIMETER SEPARATION
SILENT EDGE
There are products such as SILENT EDGE to attenuate impact sound. The self-adhesive band is of fundamental importance for a floating screed to dampen impact sound. Underscreed mats alone are not enough. The perimeter strip guarantees the effectiveness of the screed, increases soundproofing through perimeter decoupling of the structures and guarantees an effective reduction in the level of impact sound pressure.
APPLICATIONS
- Ideal as a perimeter band in floors undergoing structural renovation and in new buildings
- The combination of SILENT EDGE with products from the SILENT FLOOR family useful for floor insulation creates an effective floating screed with high sound insulation performance
- Also available with polyethylene strap for use in floors with underfloor heating
It can be installed quickly and precisely because of its fully adhesive back surface, its milled surface that facilitates folding and its pre-cut liner.
SILENT EDGE is made of cross-linked polyethylene foam with acrylic glue and silicone film liner, it is characterised by a closed-cell structure that makes it airtight and waterproof even if cut or trimmed after application.
It does not contain substances harmful for people and the environment.

Suitable for timber-to-timber installation to create a physical and mechanical separation between the two elements, thus avoiding the transmission of vibrations caused by impact sound. To increase the vibration absorption capacity, it is advisable to install the profile both below and above the timber floor. Install the profile on the upper section of the wall and fix it mechanically with staples every 40/60 cm. Then install the horizontal panel of the floor and repeat the operation. SILENT EDGE is placed to complete the anti-impact sound layer in order to create a state-of-the-art way resilient layer. SILENT EDGE is placed along the perimeter taking advantage of the pre-cut that allows a fast and precise installation.
