Anti-corrosion Glulam structure for 75x45m pool

The new sports facility in Tøyenbadet, Oslo, includes outdoor swimming pools and a large multifunctional hall, but the most impressive part of the project is the huge Glulam roof of the city's largest indoor pool. In fact, the timber structure covers a swimming pool with an area of 75x45 metres, overcoming the challenges of corrosion and rumbling sound.

From the first structural calculations in 2020, to the delivery of materials in the midst of a pandemic, the work went through workshops in Rothoblaas with engineers and designers to find the best solutions. Our anti-corrosion connectors VGZ EVO, VGS EVO, VGU EVO hold the structure together, without fearing the threat of chlorine, thanks in part to the innovative hollow and walkable truss system to allow for maintenance.
