Multi-storey CLT with column-floor structure (without beams)
This zero-emission redevelopment project, designed by Raadschelders Bouwadvies and implemented by JM Concepten B.V., was designed as a pillar-floor structure (without beams) implemented with the SPIDER system, which allows the transfer of more than 5000 kN of vertical force between the columns.
This means the possibility of designing taller buildings with fewer columns than was previously possible.
Avoiding the use of beams and their connections, on the other hand, results in considerable savings in time and resources.
The floor was assembled on site with CLT panels joined using XEPOX and fixed by means of WHT PLATE T. Now the hybrid timber-cement-timber joint TC FUSION would also be available with even higher performance and simpler construction.
